The hutch looks really good in your pictures. I can't make out too much of your apartment. Your ideas sound good and the contrasting paint might look really good in those areas, you could try it, if you decide to strip it later, it probably wouldn't be too bad to get off. The fabric draped over in the first picture looks great, what are your thoughts on that?
