i posted some time ago about my newly inherited hutch that i planned on redoing. currently it is still waiting for it's makeover as i have yet to come up with a color dec
ision. it's slowly becoming another piling surface but i took care of that today and did a huge "clean" sweep of the house. now that everything is white glove clean ;-) i'm thinking about color choices and decorating ideas (hence my huge bathroom decor post yesterday!)
*what is it with women and decorating bathrooms!? my husband always wonders why bathroom decor always seems to take precedence over other parts of the house! you got me!* no big progress or wonderful pictures yet but i have some swatches hanging on the side to get me thinking and here is a few of my ideas so far!
these are the colors that i'm thinking:1. i saw this green on some cabinets in a magazine and it's a pleasant surprise 2. cream - safe, won't completely get lost in the white walls, and will go well with the original black hardware 3. my favorite buttery yellow color of late (most likely choice) 4. yes blue! not my favorite color but i've been trying to branch out lately and this kind of light blue is of interest lately.
i'm going to add small under cabinet lights under the top of the hutch cabinet. this type is small and hopefully can be easily hidden. i like soft lights in the house that seem to come from an unknown source!!

What a great idea the lights are and they will be such a great addition and bring the hutch alive. As far as the colors, they are all great, I will have to ponder it for a while to decide which color I like the best. The blue is very pretty but would probably not be my choice, you know my feeling about blue. I will think about the other colors. Have you decided to paint the whole thing? I think it will be so pretty.
i knew you'd say that about the blue!
